11lbs boost on a 1993
Ok i have a comletely stock 1993 cobra and have the money to put a supercharger on it. i know nothing about superchargers, and limited when it comes to fuelies. is the tuning and install of a supercharger complex, I know Lefty loosey and Righty tighty, its the tuning im worried about but if its as simple as plugging in a tuner I think i can do it. Please help. its a powerdyne kit with 11 lbs pully.

Supercharger installs arent difficult for an experienced mechanic. They can be installed with simple hand tools anywhere from 8-12 hours depending on if the system is intercooled or not. With limited mechanical knowledge I would recommend getting some help from a friend or taking it to a shop but, If you do your research and have the proper tools, I would plan to make a weekend out of it. I believe your Powerdyne kit would be self contain which means you wouldnt need to punch the oil pan. You would need a dyno tune to be completly safe at that PSI. You engine could handle the power of 11psi (by no means would I go over that with a stock engine) but, without a proper tune, non-intercooled 11psi on a stock engine could do some serious damage through detonation. I would highly recommend you look into intercooling with that much boost on stock components. Compression = heat and excessive heat = bad.

Around there, depends on the tune and what else is done to it. A 1993 cobra with just an 11 psi supercharger and no intercooler would prolly push out about that. Tune it and you can find a lot more, old Cobra computers are crap.
