There is no point in doing it.

jeep is right. a waste. buy something that will actually enhance your cars performance. and most people will know you dont have a turbo by listening.... and laugh when they see the turbo timer. but if pretending to have a turbo is a must, they do make a device that simulates the sound of a blowoff valve. retails for about $140. just dont let anyone look under your hood.

What is with all this pretending to be fast? First the fake purge thread, and then the BOV noise maker simulator or whatever, and now this? I smell rice cookin.

It WON'T do anything for you. If you take it easy the last minute or so of your drive, or let it idle for 30 seconds after stopping, you'll do the same thing without looking like a poser and spending a lot of money to do so.

Turbos run hot. For the turbo, it's good to cool it down a bit, but turbo timers are still not needed even for turbo cars. If they were a must-have item, they'd come equipped from the factory. Again, stay out of the boost for the last 30 seconds to a minute before parking and you'll be fine.

You should be a lot more concerned about your brakes when parking it. If you're running the snot out of it and you park it you'll run the risk of warping rotors.

It is good for the TURBO BEARINGS if you have a turbo.

oil has to keep flowing through while it decelerates. if it cuts the engine, no more oil, but the turbo is still gonna spin, so its mucho bad friction right?

The turbo is so hot the oil is a foam inside of it, not a fluid.

By letting that foam sit there and not replacing it with fluid oil (and cooling the turbo bearings massively in the process), it cakes onto the bearings, which will eventually cause turbo failure.

ok, it's called a Sunami turbo noise simulator. they have a website, sunamiturbo.com. if you want to **** away 140 dollars, go right ahead. it wont do s**t for your car, but i will make you look stupid. as far as a turbo timer, its just that. a TURBO timer. key word timer. they are programmed to let the engine idle long enough to cool the turbo after use. but like jeep said, you don't need a turbo timer to let your car idle. what they allow you to do is to shut your car down like normal, lock it and put the key in your pocket and walk away. but instead of turning off, theturbo timer keeps the engine running for a few minutes to cool. it's really no use on an N/A motor, although my friends old escort's fan would run for about 5 min after he shut his car down, till it reached a certain temp. on my car, i don't need it. mytemp gauge sits straight up and down at all times when fully warmed up. if you want your engine to run cooler, buy an aluminum radiator and a lower degree thermostat. my 86 iroc had one, and if i got straight onto the highway, it would run between 110-160 degrees, depending on my speed and outside temperature, and how much time the car had to warm up before hitting the highway. sitting in traffic, it shot up to 228 before the fan kicked in, like it was supposed to. if i drove on the highway after that, it wouldnt drop below 160 very often.
