fuel pump question for 7-800hp
i'm going to be buildinga motor and hopefully doing a twin turbo heresoon. wondering what the best choice would be for fuel pumps. i'm looking at the aeromotive A1000 right now. my main concern is will i have to remove the factory fuel pump for this new pump? also am i going to have to run all new fuel lines for this to work? let me know if anyone has any other ideas as well. looking to support 7-800whp. thanks

RE: fuel pump question for 7-800hp
im doing this right now. just got the a1000 pump. to make it work you will need to ditch the stock fuel pump and sump your tank. that means drilling holes into the bottom of the tank and welding a sump over the holes. then running fuel line from the sump to the pump and then from there to the the rails and then back. you will need the sump, a screan filter, the pump, a paper filter, rails and a regulator. on top of that you will need all new fuel line....-8an for the supply, -6an for the return. plan on spending $1000-$1200 total. the a1000 will support about 800hp when the motor is boosted, 1000hp if the motor is n/a. if you want 700-800 at the wheels you will need one of the upgraded a1000's cause the base version wont cut it

RE: fuel pump question for 7-800hp
you could just run the 1/2 pick up/return in the stock tank if you dont want to sump the tank also it works great. Summit sells themthey go right where the stock pump goes. so no mods needed we have run 10.99 with one with no problems with fuel slosh at all.
