Okay I been wonting to add a KB to my 99 Cobra, but I also been hereing that S/C such as Pro-Charger add more horses, those are Centrifugal Superchargers, What is the difference, Which is better for daily driving, I looking for 9psi-10psi,, Which S/C for the msot rwhp numbers is the best for the price.
I can't speak for KB, but I can speak for Vortech as I have one on my 02 4.6 2V. I just took a look at my Dyno Sheets before and after Supercharger installation. They indicate Vortech power jumps begin at 3100 rpm and peak off at 363 rwhp 5400 rpm and hold to redline, which for me 6100 rpm. Boost is at 10lbs. This is obtained with a computer flash, 42lb injectors, Focus High volume fuel pump, Pro M 80mm Mass Air Meter, C&L upper plemum/BBK 75mm TB, Magna flow Catted X pipe, Mac Cats. Prior to the insulation of the Vortech, I was getting 257 RWHP with pulleys which I had to obviously take off.

The strength of the Vortech is on the highway. The surge from 60 mph to 130 is incredible. You will get there quick. Launching is a different story. All is normal until you hit boost at 3100 rpm. That is when all Hell breaks loose. Tires start spinning again. You will need a set of Steeda lower control arms, and welded Subframe connectors to help with that. A nice set of yellow Koni adjustable shocks will not hurt too. I went with that set up along with an Auburn limited slip 28 spin gear, 3:73's, and BFG Drag Radials (275x40x17) my QM times are a respectable 12:13.

No complants on the Vortech.

I love my KB. On the stock motor and 9 psi I had 389 ft-lb @ 3400 rpm, 390 rwhp @ 5200 rpm.

Ran it for a few weeks and went in for a COMPLETE rebuild. I'm into this project foe way more $$$ than I ever expected, but it's my mid-life crisis car, so WTF! I go 60-90mph in about 3 seconds with the top down.

Setting up a KB correctly requires a really good tuner. If you go over 9 psi, plan on ugrading to an 8-rib belt... and about 1200$ in pulleys.

Foe a street car, the only reason not to go KB is $$$.

I don't have anything to race you in at this point. I just sold my 01 S281. If I had back my S281E, I'd race ya for pinks.

i say kenne bell all the way! go centrifugal and expect a cracked intake manifold. my common sense tells me high pressure in a plastic manifold is bound to crack sometime. so why not spend the little extra money and get a whole new manifold with a blower on top of that.

I don't think a centrifugal will crack my manifold. & I highly doubt up to 20 psi would crack a plastic manifold.

it will be fine under moderate boost. if you up the boost you will want a better manifold anyways. they have been known to crack in nitrous applications but have held up fine to boost
