Default I know this IS a Stupid Question BUT

Ok I am definitely not familiar with a supercharged engine. I have a 98 4.6 with the vortech supercharger 5 speed manual tranny. Here is the dumb question part. At how many rpms should I be shifting. If I am racing should I take it up to 5500 or more? If I am just driving around should I shift at like 3 grand?

i wouldn't go above 6 grand. your car probably levels out around 5500-5700 and stops making power or may even start to lose it. best to shift around there. my car fell on it's face at 5700rpm with the S trim i had on there.

as long as your not over revving the car, i.e. what nanaki said about running up over 5700 your fine. the harder you run her on a consistent basis equals how long she will last. if your putting your foot thru it at every light and what not, be prepaired to start wearing parts out. also you may want to add your mods and vehicle description to your sig, that way you will not have to type it out every time you post.

The guy said it was at 9psi He said the easiest way and cheapest to ad some HP would be go more. I asked him about doing a pi intake swap and he did not think it would do any good. I looked at intercoolers but man they are way up their as far as price. Was thinking about doing a TB and Plenum. Not sure

you may want to look into meth injection as well. snow makes a good kit which will free up a couple ponies. the tb and plenum arent bad ideas, but i would look into opening up the exhaust as well.
