PERFECT BLOWER CAM
OK GUYS,
SO I HAVE A 94 5.0 STANG WITH A V-2 SQ UNTUNED, AND 42#ERS AND A 90MM MAF ON THE WAY. WHICH CAM SHOULD I USE WITH THIS COMBO, I ALREADY HAVE BRODIX ALUMINUM HEADS, WITH TRICKFLOW UPPER & LOWER INTAKE, 70MM THROTTLE BODY, THE V-2 IS BOOSTING 6 #. AND IAM PRETTY SURE THE COMPRESION WENT DOWN WITH THE HEADS, BECASUE WHEN I HAD THE CAR PREVIOUSLY TUNED WTIH A SCT CHIP, THE HP WAS 257 WITH 310 TQ, WHEN THE BRODIX HEADS WENT ON THE HP WENT TO 268 WITH 289 TQ, SO SOMETHING ISNT RIGHT. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS BEFORE THE SUPERCHARGER SO I REALLY DONT KNOW THE HP NOW,ANYWAYS WHICH CAM WOULD BE OPTIMAL FOR MY COMBO? WHAT HP, SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER INSTALLING THE 42LBERS AND MAF?

what size are the chambers on the heads? Those numbers def. do not sound right. Well the best cam is obviousley a custom grind but they can be expensive. Other than that look for a blower cam in the lift range that your springs can handle and will clear the pistons

i have stock 5.0 bottom end, out of a 91 gt. put a trick flor stage 1 cam, and some stiffer springs on the heads, with headers, exhaust and B&M miniblower with only 6 lbs of boost. and im making close to 400.. i really like trick flow cams, and it went good with what i was doing.. so yea.

WHATS THE SPEC ON THE STAGE 1? STAGE 2? WHICH CAM IS BETTER CHOICE WITH A BLOWER? I KNOWA GOOD CAM HAS TO HAVE AT LEAST 512 LIFT OR SO AND A LOBE SEPERATION OF 114-117. DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT? I THINK WHERE I WENT WRONG WITH MY COMBO WAS THE CAM, IAM USING A B303 FRPP. PERTTY MUCH A FOSSIL OF CAMS!

the brodix headsi bought, already assembled with dual valve springs and i believe it has 2.02 valves i dont know the chamber size, see i bought them off a buddy, he used them for a week and changed to somthing bigger, they whereon a331 stroker.

OK, SO I THINK I FOUND THE RIGHT CAM, FROM COMP CAMS PART NUMBER 35-314-8, CHECK THE SPECS OUT AT WWW.COMPCAMS.COMAND SEE WHAT YOU GUYS THINK. I CALLED THEM DIRECTLY AND GAVE THEM ALL MY INFO OF WHATS DONE TO THE CAR, AND THIS IS WHAT THEY SUGGESTED.

Trick Flow Stage 1 is probably your best bet....works good in my set up, but that is my opinion...
or you could go with an Anderson Ford Motorsports B-31..which is what I should have done...
