Flowmaster Muffler Directional?
A friend of mine gave me a flowmaster muffler and i was wondering does it matter what side goes where. One side the hole for the exhaust is in the middle and on the other side of the muffler the hole is on the side.
Its not goin on the mustang, its acutally going on my moms Ford F-150 truck. It came off a GMC2500 he bought a new ehaust and gave me the flowmaster mufflers for free. lol I jsut have to have them welded on. Does it matter which side is the inlet and which side is the outlet if that makes any since.

RE: Flowmaster Muffler Directional?
what will it do if you put it on backwards. i found the inlet side but if i mount it that way its really close to the frame and might rub. will it hurt it to mount it backwards. I can alwyas have extended pipe to move it away but i dont want it really far back.

It'll really mess with the sound. Here's what a cutaway of your average flowmaster can look like:
So you can see how flowing the opposite directions could cause all kinds of noise quirks and maybe even some back pressure
