Default Which Supercharger

I posted this in the 5.0 section and didn't get any hits, this is probably the appropriate place for it anyway:
OK, so I recently picked up a bone stock 94 GT Convertible, it feels extremely slow after my last highly modified 5.0 5 speed but it is a real cherry of a car so I was thinking about slapping a charger on it to get a more seat of the pants driving experience without ripping into the motor again. So what charger would you recommend, here is what I want and don't want, I want reliability, not too much boost (probably around 8 or 9 pounds), I DO NOT want to have to tap into the oil pan for lubrication, so what are your recommendations? Thanks

I would recommend a roots, but no kits available. You'd have to build it, which isn't hard imo. If you've got enough money & prefer buying a complete kit i'd recommend the kb aswell

depends on where you want your power KB will give you tons off the line but the power will die sooner. procharger is used more for strip racing because it will give you more pwer and 3000+rpm so its up to you.

have you looked at vortech and paxton? those are pretty good for foxes.

Ive heard rumors that the kb's dont work to well on pushrod engines and that you should go with a centrifugal charger such as paxton, vortech, or procharger. but at the price you are spending on the procharger whhyy not get a nice turbo kit

My unbiased opinion is um........................ VORTECH SL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW the fear or tapping into a oil pan is vastly overrated.

Just got done a Vortech V3 project on my bone stock '89 and got incredible power...see my "FINALLY" post. V3 is self contained, no oil pan tap. No meth 360rwhp/400ft. lbs. With meth 376rwhp/410ft. lbs.

God bless,

those are some decent #'s, but i feel like you should be able to see a lot more out of the meth kit....

Kweb,

You're right. Tuner said he coulda likely got 400rwhp out of it but felt too apprehensive pushing 20 year old stock internals over 375. No smoke and runs like mad, hopefully she stays that way
