i have a glass pack on my 98 v6. not a cherry bomb or thrush its a generic brand its much better. and someone said that if i cut the pipping back to the exhaust it will sound better and just get a tip to point it down... good or bad idea....

my dad claims that the exhaust will just stay under the car and at a stop will make it into the cab and is a stupid idea.

Your car will sound louder, but lose some tone, if that makes some sense. If you run a turn down slightly angle it, so the gases are circulated somewhat out. If you are running your stock cat-H pipe, then the fumes will not be too bad. Many people do the turn down. I would do it if you want your car louder.
