JMS - Turbo behind sidescoop in 99-04
At Carlisle, JMS (known for c pillars and targa conversions) had a car (possibly an 04 GT?) with a turbo hidden behind an opened up Cervinis Side Scoop. The best part was that the intake was routed into the fenderwell (looked just like any other fenderwell CAI). So opening up the hood would give you no indication that it was turboed (of course the green top injectors, big MAM and TB, are a big hint that something is going on). The plan is to make a twin turbo version behind both sidescoops and a nice front mount intercooler. How's that for making the scoops functional?

seems like an awful lot of work for what? There usally hidden in the fenders anyways depending on the kit. There is a ton of tubes with alot of lost boost i bet.How do you put an air filter on it too?

They are developing a filter to fit in the scoop. The exhaust piping probably isn't too bad. The intake piping (which goes under the car and then up over the wheel well) looks a little more involved but what turbo piping isn't?. The intake air has further to travel (but hopefully it dissipates heat along the way). They didn't release any boost numbers (at the time they hadn't yet tuned it).

looks cool! The downside is they won't be as efficient & you will have more lag. A good side is the intake tubing running under the car so the air under your car can do some cooling work on your pressurized air. Your turbo(s) will stay cooler since there will be air going to them, which has both good & bad effects. The oil lines will also cool off on their trip to the turbo(s).

seems like a lot more work for probably a loss of hp when compared to a regular tt kit.

But it's so darn nifty! Kudos for originality.... lol... why do all you guys see the negative in stuff!
BTW: I was at Carlisle and seen it... was really sweet looking... pictures can be found on my page here:

yeah............that would have serious turbo lag. not good. too much piping. not good. with more piping comes more possible leaks. not good. but it is a turbo. good. more power. good. turbo whine. good. there are good and bad things. just more bad things with a kit like that.
