Question Intercooler tech Question - from Iraq - Why is the a square hole on the top?

Ok so I'm guessing this will be an easy one for someone - or possibly everyone. Anyway I'm assembling the parts to intercool my mustang from Iraq - just bought the intercooler - It has a square hole with mounting tabs around it. What goes there? or what plugs this hole?

Its hard to figure this out from Iraq so I'm hoping this is any easy one.

was this an air/air intercooler? Any other pictures of it from a different angle?

Its an air to air - all the other pieces sticking out are plugged and only for mounting. Its just this square hole in the top thats open - I've never seen it before....

I posted 2 more pics of it.

If I have to I guess I can machine a piece of aluminum with an o-ring groove or something to seal it but I'd really like to know what this is for.

New one to me. Best guess, someone put a flange for a bov on it. You could try emailing the intercooler company & ask them.

i just watched a video on u-tube and they had a intake for a new camaro, it had the same holes in it, i believe your holes are for a mass air sensor

Good call on that one - I think you're right it looks exactly the same to me. Looks like I'll have to machine a block off or weld it shut. Thanks.

After further research into Camaro sensors I think thats definetly it. Thats explains why we were all stumped.... Guess I better get it cut off and welded shut before the Camaroness contaminates my garage....
