X-pipes or H-pipes?
#11
Ok, im in the same spot as him as far as h or x on my 07gt. I want a throaty and not raspy sound out of my exhaust and not annoyingly loud but loud enough for people to want to turn thier head. But what ive read so far in some of the posts is conflicting. whats raspy and not raspy and so forth. if i get a x pipe with chambered flows, what do people think about that.. is there a better setup for the throaty, grumble setup?

I have no experience to back this theory up, as I am just beginning my 09 Mustang mods. But I've been told in the past that an X pipe actually creates a ventury effect, similar to how a carburetor works, at the crossover. Making a low pressure area that begins to help exhaust scavenging at higher RPM. Maybe Derf00 is right about only seeing a slight difference on a dyno and not SOPF, but I've definitely had this theory embedded in me by a few sources. Namely, UTI's Hot Rod classes that I went through a few years back. Like I said, this is all theory as I have no experience. But when it comes time, I'm planning on a Catted X for my ride.
