Default Help! turbo oil pressure.

So, yea, got the on3 kit. have a masterpower T70 with .68 a/r hot.

my question is, is it possible to have too much pressure through the oil feed line, into the turbo? she seems to be drippin a slight drip from the oil feed line coming out of the adapter on the bottom side of the oil pressure sending unit.

i poped off the drain line, and turned her on for a second, so i know theres oil flowing through her as she made a mess all over the floor.

on the top adapter, there seems to be oil pushing out of the adapters, ever so slightly.

also, at idle, she doesnt spin all the time, and sometimes if i give her a flick on the compressor, it stops after a second or 2. slowly pusing it with my finger, the compressor feels like theres a slight amount of pressure against the shaft. does she just need to be broken in or what?

oh, and when the car is off (no oil pressure applied to bearing) she spins fine, and a flick of the finger gets her rolling and she doesnt stop for a good couple seconds.

i can give a video to better explain this if i didnt explain it good enough.

she's gettin tuned on friday hopefully (droppin her off tomorow) i'll ask tuner if he knows of anything, or if it will effect tuning at all first, and fix it after if need be. (bad attitude to have, i know)

well at idle there isnt going to be as much oil pressure as there is under load. Your sure the fittings are all tight? Also the turbo should be spinning at all times when the car is running. I would call masterpower and ask them what they think

its not so much the pressure but the volume. some turbos need a restrictor on the oil feed line so that the turbo doesnt get flooded. on my turbos, the oil is choked down to an opening just 1/16". talk to MP and see if the turbo you have needs a restrictor

yea, i heard restrictors on journal bearings is bad which is why i asked, but this seems like one of the cases where its needed. the adapters are so tight i nearly rounded off the boltheads trying to get them tighter. might try silicone lube on the threads.

called a guy last night about the masterpower, he said that the turbo's can handle up to 60psi. might get an oil pressure gauge to see what pressure its gettin, and if its close to that or higher i'll get a restricter.

i'll see if i can contact masterpower directly tonight and get more clarification.

also, whats the threading size coming out of the port on the bottom of the oil pressure unit? i'll prolly get a new feed line while im at it, might as well get some A/N fittings if i can.
