I emailed the GA Clean Air Force and their reply was extremely vague... No where in here do I see that replacing any part of the ECS with another ECS compatible part (i.e., catted mid pipe with LT headers). Yall take a peek at this and let me know if I missed something in translations or if my coffee hasn't kicked in yet...lol

Thank you for contacting Georgia’s Clean Air Force (GCAF).

We cannot predict if the modifications you make to your vehicle will allow it to pass the emission inspection in 2011.

Federal law (Section 203(a)(3) of the Clear Air Act) prohibits parties from tampering with emission control systems on motor vehicles and prohibits any person or entity from causing tampering. Specifically, Section 203(a)(3) prohibits any person from removing or rendering inoperative any emission control device or element of design installed on or in a motor vehicle. In addition, the Act prohibits any person from causing such tampering. Tampering with emission control devices includes removing, disabling or destroying a part of the emission control system, or installing an incorrect or ineffective part in or on any motor vehicle designed to meet Federal emission standards.

Additional information on catalytic converters can be found at: http://www.epa.gov/compliance/resour...amccpolicy.pdf.

Just in case Grorgia goes the way of the Socialist Republik of Kalifornia, none of the aftermarket "catted" mid-pipes are CARB legal. Our law says that "only the stock cats can be used and it is a misdemeanor to alter or replace them". We've even had speed shops closed down by the Bureau of Auto Repair for putting on illegal aftermarker parts like headers, x-pipes, cams, etc. I don't know why companies even sell catted mid-pipes; they won't pass either the visual or the sniff test (personal experience). As far as headers go, no LT headers are CARB legal. The only CARB legal headers are JBA shorties, and the JBA performance exhaust uses the stock mid-pipe between their headers and cat-back. Nitrous Bob seems to think that by commiting fraud and welding an EO plate on the headers you would pass the visual. Nice try, it's a felony to do that.

this isnt my first mustang lol. i had no problems with passing with long tubes on my 88, 89 and 98 gts. I also live in one of the counties with really strict emmissions compared to the rest of the state. Gwinnett county rapes emissions lol. I dont see Cherokee emissions being strict, its pretty rural out there isnt it?

Rural in the sense of downtown Atlanta...lol I emailed Brenspeed to see what mods I would need to get a clean 350rwhp and it included LT headers and comp cams (among other things). I will have to do some price checking as it might be just as economical to go with the Vortech V3 and get 400rwhp. Either way, the cams or the SC will void what is left on my warranty
