Here is my .02

X pipes are sometimes louder than H pipes, however, are raspier at lower and higher RPM's. I have an O/R H(Mac Prochamber) with Borla Stingers, and my car has no drone, no rasp, and doesn't make popping noises. I've gone from a Bassani X, with a Magnaflow C/B, to a Bassan X, with a Mac C/B, then to a Mac Prochamber with a Mac C/B, and to this current set up.

H pipes will give you more low-end TQ, while X's will give you a bit more HP, and a louder sound. Most H's don't smooth the exhaust tone out, but, Prochambers are designed to do that. If you want loud, deep, smooth, go with a prochamber, and flowmasters, magnaflows, macs or stingers, etc. If you want louder, more HP, and can handle drone and rasp, get an X pipe, with a straight through style muffler system.

Hope this helps.

Well i went ahead and installed a pypes o/r X and i must say I'm pleased. It's actually not as loud as it was inside the car with the h, which is fine with me. Now I can almost hear myself think. And there's no popping what so ever, not even during WOT. I actually still think a chambered set up would sound best, however my magnaflow catback wasn't cheap, and I can't bring myself to tear any of it off the car for the sake of welding in flows. (which was my first choice b4 I went with the X pipe. Thanks for all the imput.

I just recently installed LT's, and O/R H, and flowmasters and I constantly get compliments about how nice it sounds. That being said, I want something different. Ive come to the conclusion im gonna go with and O/R X, and some magnaflow magnapacks! Im ready for this thing to scream
