Nitrous on my sn-95. Got questions
I installed a zex 125 dry shot to my 95. Its a 5.0 that I have only about 20,000 miles on with some small modes. Typhoon upper and lower, ported and polished heads. How big of a shot can I go with without damaging the motor? The kit came with 75, 100, 125 jets. I need to adjust the timing but do I need the platnium plugs with the 3 prong? And is it always better to run High Octane with the system? Thanks!

what kit did you get? i only ask because if its a dry kit, the injectors have to supply the extra fuel and if you dont have one of those boxes that a lot of new kits come with to control the fuel, youll need a tune.
as far as the shot goes, youll be fine with a 125 shot. just back off the timing and run 91 octane and youll be fine. where in ca are you?
you dont need any special plugs. if the shot was bigger i would say get a colder set of plugs but for a 125 shot i wouldnt bother

Yes with only 125 your safe, good fuel, set timing on 10* you can spray 150 without a tune, get an adjustable regulator either way dry or wet kit and add a pound or 2 over stock fuel pressure!! an engine a little fat wont starve lol, i`d be safe and get one number colder plug if you have 25`s get 24`s if you use the 765`s or whatever the are get 764 etc!

Im Runnin the Zex dry kit. It is a throttle controled unit has the box that does all the work. Im located on Camp Pendleton. Im anxious to hit the switch but awful nervous. I really hate to injure my engine, got soo much wrench time in it.

Well the ZEX kit has built in safteies right, if it is hooked up correctly if something happens it`ll not spray or quit spraying in that case!
but 125 wont hurt anything, really especially dry, we had a pos solenoid hang open twice froze the damn intake pipe and tb open, nothing happened, once you have so much nitrous in the cylinder under pressure (a non flammable gas)and no fuel or little fuel it wont ignite it smoothers out. oh and btw we were spraying the same dry!

thanks so much for the information guys! A huge help for sure. Im gonna look into fuel pressure regulators and get it on the dyno hopefully before I deploy in may. Im really hoping to see some good numbers out of my motor.

Im a Marine on Pendleton. I sprayed my car today with the 75 jets and Im Very green when it comes to Nitrous. But I did notice a pull and my speed climbed quite quickly. Car sounded smooth and didnt give me any problems. How badly do i need to invest in a Pressure gauge and bottle heater tho? thanks guys

You really don't "need" a pressure gauge, but it's nice to know when you're at full pressure. A bottle heater starts to become beneficial at around 65 degrees or below, so you have to decide weather it's worth it. The nice thing about a self regulated bottle heater is that it will shut off when the temp or psi reaches the desired level. So, if you're out and about, and not sure if you need it on, just turn it on anyway, and it will go on and off as needed.
