Default Mach 1 Exhaust

Hey guys
I got a mach 1 and have a question and want some opinions on long tube headers for the car.

I was looking at buying BBK LTs because they are 560 dollars, somewhat affordable. then I saw SLP LTs and they are like 900 dollars. what is the difference between the SLPs and the BBKs besides the price?

Also for recomendations, What do you guys think would be the best LT header for sound quality and performance gains?

Any help would be appreciated. thanks guys.

without looking at both of them id guess the diffrence is the quality of metal used for each pipe. maybe the finish of them.

as for sound everyone thinks that a diffrent pipe sounds better then the other, your best bet is going on youtube and finding some sound clips see how they all sound with your exhaust set up. unless your stock then see how they sound with stock or find a combo you like and keep that in mind while you do the rest of your exhaust.

any LT will be great gains over stock, im not sure which ones are the "best"

Hmmm, not so much on that last statement. Long tubes on a relatively stock, or mild bolt on Mach 1, will be very disappointing as far as power/price goes. You would be better off going with a good set of mid lengths and a decent x or h pipe. If you plan on turning up the wick with nitrous or a blower, then you want to consider the long tubes, until then, they really aren't going be much help, other than making the car sound good.

mmmm not exactly. longtubes even on a GT are the best bolton you can do.

check out mac's, much better than BBK and cheaper than the other higher end brands, but still fit good.

On a GT, sure they make a big difference, on a Mach 1, no they don't. The stock port matched exhaust manifolds on the Mach 1 flow just fine, even with mild bolt-ons. The best power increases come at the mid-pipe on back. Unless you plan on running some type of forced induction, long tube headers on a Mach 1 are not money well spent.
