Procharger bypass valve leak - please help
Hi there,
I just finished installing my procharger kit, but when I put some throttle on it just enough for the supercharger to build up some boost on i, it hesitates badly, it picks up again and then hesitates again. I also got a lean bank1 error code.
So I did a pressure leak test, and the sytem cannot hold any pressure, not even 2 psi . I push 90 psi with a compressor in the pipes and all of it runs out.
I here the air venting from around the bypass valve, even though it's closed (if I open it the sound changes and the air gets out quickly). The bypass valve is connected to a good vacuum line from the intake manifold (I checked that line also). I have the metal valve type, not the platic one.
I really don't know if it is the valve itself that leaks, since I have to take th bumper off to see clearly, but the sound is coming from there.
What do you guys think ? I'll do the full checking tommorow but just wanted to know that if it's normal for the valve to loose that much pressure, or should the pressure hold a decent amount of time.
thanks.
