focus fuel pump problem
i have a 03 gt with a vortech, my tuner said that at wot for a long pull, the fuel pressure dips down to 29 psi in 3rd gear. he said that the fuel pump is not close to being maxxed out, but something is holding it out, i think he said the fmu? not sure, he suggested that i go with a kb boost a pump. if this is the only solution, then thats what ill do, but i know plenty of other people are running vortechs with even alot more hp then i am with just the focus svt pump. so any suggestions or inputs?

im not really familiar with 03's but i didnt think the 03s had return fuel lines. if im correct you cant have an fmu because an fmu works by pinching the return line almost shut in order to spike fuel pressure. if your fuel filter is clogged it could cause this issue, if the fuel filter is stock, id replace it. they are cheap and easy to swap out. always a good idea to replace it every year or so

i replaced the fuel filter about 6k miles ago when i put the svt pump in. if it was the fuel filter, would i have a problem with it all the time?...or just under heavy load for a longer period of time like the problem im having?

im having the same problem in a way. only my tuner said my SVT focus pump is running at 98% duty cycle. and im only making 325hp, which doesnt make sense to me. i also know more people with more power and the focus pump is more than enough. oh and i changed my fuel filter too. no dice.

The next question is to do with a KB BAP or an extra online fuel pump... I know for my car I could go either way. They have kits using stock fuel lines. But I really don't know what is better for you or me.. Lol i think it comes down to preference.
