i have an american thunder flowmaster catback on my 90 aod hatchback. i really dont care for the droning sound at 2000 and above. im also looking for that raspy sound! will adding headers and hi flow h pipe make a difference?

The flowmaster super 44 will give you a rapsy sound, but by adding headers will increase the interior drone as well. you can go with a 50 series flow to, (eatra chamber). will quiet a little

If you ant a raspy sound, run an O/R x pipe and SLP Loudmouths.

That setup was a bit extreme for my tastes, I now run a MAC prochamber and SLP Powerflo catback

I'd say go with a borla muffler. Every mustang I've heard with them has a loud raspy sound I think you might be talking about.

changing your headers or midpipe WILL NOT get rid of the droning, infact it will make it worse by making your exhaust louder. flowmasters are chambered mufflers. chambered mufflers drone horribly at cruising RPM's. the only way to get rid of it is to change your mufflers to something NOT CHAMBERED. borlas are awesome but are a little pricey, anything that is a 'strait thru' design or like a race resonator will get rid of the drone.
