5.0hh & boost?
just curious...A 5.0 with 190k, how long do you think the engine would last if she had about 7-10 pounds of boost thrown on her?, turbo or sc'd. And i do baby the car, so i was thinking for a good bit. Its a weekend car anyways. thanks!

As long as the car was well maintained it should be fine. besides you dont drive the car at a constant 7- 10 psi of boost anyways. it would be for a quick few seconds at a time only when you get on it. I have a 90 5.0 with a novi 2000 and I rarely see any boost from just casual driving unless I stomp on it hard.

Thats good to know! yeah i was just curious. Its a weekend car, and i want to have some fun with it. I had the car for a few years and havent really had the time or money to really ad some HP, just little bolt-on stuff...Did you get yours tuned? i hear a tune is a must. And would the stock fuel system be ok?

I would have to agree. The car should be fine as long as it had a safe tune. If you dont upgrade your fuel system then you wont be able to add much boost because you will run lean. You need to upgrade your injectors and pump to keep up with all that extra air. You will also want to get all msd ignition stuff and colder spark plugs to keep your spark from getting blown out at high boost. Get headers too, to get that forced air out fast.

if the car is all stock i'd hit with 7lbs max
i have 150k on my car and squirt an 80 shot. thats about the same as you'd have .
the stock induction will support it as well... i have sprayed 2 different stock cars with 100 shot, and never had an issue.
if your fuel pump is still original i would swap it for new. it is probably NOT running at 100%
no need for a custom burn on a foxbody, just adjust your timing according to weather. if you really wanna be foolproof use a boost timing master (msd btm)
