I live in CA where any aftermarket headers are illeagal.....but i really want them LOL. So i figured ill get them and screw the cats since the headers alone will make me fail. so i think ill just put my stock exhaust back on every 2 years... but im 18 and my mustang is my daily driver, my car already has flowmaster 40s on it so its pretty loud and never got questioned before, do you think ill get cops checking if i got cats? any stories?

If you think it's loud now with just flows on it, ha. If you go with a offroad H or X midpipe, not to mention long tube headers, it will make the car SIGNIFICANTLY louder. As in, almost double with o/r mid.

That being said, it would sound badass. But yes, it will attract a lot more attention as well.

The loudness of the car is relative to what you're used to. I've only heard a few S197 cars that I would consider loud. I go without mufflers all the time, and the only time it's a somewhat loud is under WOT. Best of luck.
