has anyone experienced that the bearings would explode and destroy the gears in vortech v2 sq? have you guys been using tapered bearings or just the ball bearing?
just a few pics of the gears!

Wow. That sucks man. When I rebuild my head unit, I used thrust bearings (i forget the brand) for the impeller shaft. They were from 928motorsports.com and the kit cost about 240 bucks. Whats your next step? Look for parts or send it in and upgrade?

Ugh, those pics make me cringe! I think there were some known issues with bad bearings going out in some of the V2-SQ units. I had a bearing go bad on me, but I got pretty lucky as I tore it down and never found the little ball. It popped out on the output side and probably ended up in my oil pan. Maybe it just disintegrated... Who knows. Here's a link to the post I made.

Looks like your gonna need more than just some new bearings to get up and running again. Best of luck to ya.

yeah it´s not pretty! but I´m learning on turning and milling machines and I decided to machine the gears! and test it before I buy new gears! I´ll post pics when I find my camera!
I found a site that sells everything in this supercharger!

So here are some pics! I know this is not like the original but close enough (the original has 83/23 teeth and ratio 3.6 but mine has 60/17 and ratio 3.75) We will see how this works!
These are the first gears that I built so I´m very happy how they came out!

Wow, I am impressed! That's seriously a DIY project. How about some more details about how you made those parts. I don't have access to equipment like that, but I am interested in the machining process.
Since your gears are going to have a slightly higher ratio, how do you think that will affect your boost output level? Great job and good luck on the install.

yeah it took about 2 weeks to finish the gears! I have a few pics of the process on my facebook page! but I milled the gears in some old milling machine at school with some gearcutting wheel!
