new 4 cat xpipe problem?

new 4 cat xpipe problem?
Just installed my new xpipe, but my problem is that the air tube from the smog pump is about a half an inch or a little bit more from coming over the air tube in the crossover.
I tried to push the x pipe as far as I could forward in the hangers, but it looks a little shorter(the air tube in the crossover) than the stock H Pipe.
Does any body have a remedy? Or perhaps have come across this problem before?
I'm out here in CA and dont really feel like deleting the smog pump system for Inspection reasons. With the crossover pipe venting exhaust I'm sure that I'm losing back pressure, right? AND, am I harming the engine/smog pump by not having it connected? How can I connect it? Being as though I read the smog pump tube is aluminum I cant weld it to the crossover tube right?
Thanks as always
