Fixing Droning with Resonators

Fixing Droning with Resonators
I posted a thread awhile back, and in it I said that my cats blew up from my FI and that I went and got them deleted. Here's a video of the before and after...
I like the sound of it this way, but it was droning just over 2,000 RPMs and it's starting to drive me crazy. I just went to the muffler shop and they said they'd install resonators (I believe they said Borla? He said Bor-something I couldn't hear well but I'm guessing Borla) for $160. This sounds like a good price, as a set of decent resonators is about $100 from what I've been told. My question is, do you think this is the best resolution to this problem, and also, if the resonators are installed, should they be offset and where should they be to produce the best sound. I'm planning on getting this done tomorrow so if you have any thoughts at all, please share them. Thank you!

A resonator may do one of three things.
1) Fix the issue
or more likely if they are not tuned to the right frequency for your drone,
2) Move the RPM of the Drone
3) amplify the drone.
The best way is to have a helmholtz chamber added, this is designed to cancel out the frequencies that cause the drone. There are a couple of exhaust companies out there that make them but they are semi-custom and I've only been able to find them for GM cars or Ford Trucks.
basic concept and advanced stuff.

Give you a better idea of what they look like.

or you can do what most others do, live with it or find another axleback.....

I would think that if you put them where the cats were you might get a similar result??? I can tell you though that most stock vehicles if have seen with a resonator on them have usually been back towards the rear. Common on big cars and suvs for quiet cab.
