Default Cat delete questions

Ok, I want to ditch that cats on my 07 turbo mustang,
if i get the pipe that replaces just the section of pipe where the cats are
and have the O2 mounts on them.

will it throw codes not having the cats and will i need to have it retuned right away? I want to get the cats removed and later do The Ford Hot Rod cams and get it retuned then. that way im not paying to tune it twice in a matter of a couple months.

i'd like to know aswell. I am suspecting my X pipe had the cats custom removed, and the o2 eliminators are not in place, as I am having the no fuctions CAT code on my OBD2 reader.

also is this going to mess with my A/F or MPG.

I just did that yesterday. Now my engine light is on and it needs to be tuned again. The 02 sensor is plug into the new section but its still not reading them.

If you remove the cats, it will throw a code. Having a tune that accounts for that will take care of it. I'm not sure on some of the other tuning companies, but you can get free tunes for life from Bama at American Muscle. That way you can get a new tune every time you change something without worrying about the cost.
