Question Realistic pricing for Turbo setup, transmission, etc

Hey everyone,

Over the years of owning an 07 Mustang GT (which has now turned 42k miles) I have read many turbo/supercharger threads eagerly, but when trying to calculate a realistic price, it is so easy to follow tangents when looking up transmissions, internals, etc. Everything really does get overwhelming.

I think I like Hellion even though some of what I read says the turbos are not visible from the bay. Yet, I have seen pics with it visible. Also, I would prefer to go twin, but I only see that as an option for the GT500 :-(

I am thinking next spring will be a reality for me, so I need to know what to plan for.
On a stock motor (so within safety limits torque and boost-wise), is it realistic to think $10k for the turbo and tranny/clutch package (maybe a TR6060), and perhaps $1000-$2000 for install/tune/various parts?

Once I have something enjoyable, I'll work on a build motor after-the-fact (maybe MMR or aluminator), but that is a new level of money lol.

Thanks guys. Just looking for an overview so I now what to expect when I start purchasing things.

I would talk to a tuning shop or try to find out what your stock internals can handle. 10k might be possible if you do it yourself. Figure about 5-6 for the turbo setup, $400 for injectors, possibly a new maf and fuel pumps(I'm not sure what stock can handle). Probably looking at another 3k for the tranny. If you did everything but the tune yourself you'd be right around 10k

That sounds pretty low if you do the transmission/clutch, you're looking at almost 6K for just that... t56 magnum xl kit with driveshaft, around 4K add another 1K for clutch & flywheel, then 1K for the install...

Assuming you go for something that the stock engine can handle, say 450-500RWHP, 10psi max, It should be cheaper to do it single, the supporting mods would be dual fuel pumps (or boost-a-pump), 42lb injectors, probably a tubular k-member for the extra space it allows for pipe routing, obviously all the piping for cold and hot sides, turbo blanket, heat insulation, intercooler, wastegate & BOV, gauges, I'd say your at maybe 6K installed, plus up to another 1K for tuning.
