Default ProCharger BOV woes....

Evening Gents...I was doing my usual blower oil change / Filter clean when I noticed the butterfly valve on my ProFlo bypass was broken. I typically try to stay in vacuum when driving around town, so I'm guessing that's why I didn't notice the lack of boost. After calling ProCharger support and being told they didn't sell parts for the valve and I'd have to buy the whole piece I figured aid come here and ask around.....should I get a replacement from them? The ProFlo is $170 and it broke on me during moderate use...I've never tracked the car and I've only had it on the car for a little over a year. Should I upgrade to the procharger bullet bypass? What's the difference between the 'Open' and 'Closed' variants? I'm currently running 7PSI on my stock motor, but when the motor goes I'm sure I'll be swapping engines and going for more power so a better valve may be of some use down the line. However the $300 price tag is a bit hard to swallow. I also read a little about subbing in a Bosch valve that's relatively cheap. This is installed on a S197 v6 with an otherwise stock motor. Any help or insight would be appreciated...thanks!

I run the ProCharger "Open Race" blow off valve on my street cars. It's built like a tank. I've never had any issues with it.

Yeah, I'm aware of those ones. I'm not trying to spend that kind of coin until after the holidays though. I'm sort of interested in the Bosch alternative as a temp solution. Has anybody here tried that? I've read that it's plug and plug with the procharger....

I'm thinking they all serve the same function. With this one I can vent to atmosphere and just leave the air filter off the 'Intake' side. Then the side that is labeled 'Boost from compressor' is the side that gets tied into my intercooler plumbing and the tube coming from the engine bay get connected to the nipple on the top...Is that correct? According to another post I saw I'd need to get a 1 1/2" to 1" reducer to put this in place. Thoughts??
