Homemade Mufflers
#31
Here it is. Personally, I don't think it sounds terrible other than under hard acceleration. Definitely too loud though if you care what people think at all...
I got some shapes for my mufflers that I can't cut out just with my angle grinder and a cutoff wheel, so I'm going to head to my buddy's sometime early this week and use his plasma cutter. Hopefully I can get both sets made and tested this week. That's my hopes anyway...

Templates for all the pieces to the mufflers. I'm gonna stop by my buddy's tomorrow afternoon to cut them out. That's the plan now at least.
Until then, enjoy this chick shakin' her booty:

Really started on making the mufflers today. Everything seems to be going alright so far. Got everything welded I needed to today. Coated everything with some VHT header paint. I'll bake it tomorrow morning. Then I'll wrap the baffles, put everything together and weld it up, then coat the welds with paint and test 'em out!

Just test drove the chamber/straight through hybrid mufflers. I really like the sound. The video didn't capture the sound very well though. The idle/revs part is good, but the drive bys aren't very good due to some wind which really affected how it captured the sound.
Anyways, lots of pictures and videos to come later today.
Gonna go swap on the other mufflers after lunch.

I think these sound good. Not amazing but good. They are pretty close to straight pipe volume, but with more tone basically. Still pretty "blatty".
Now these I really like and are what I kept on the car. The rev part of the video is pretty representative of how they sound. With the wind in the drive by part it kind of messed up how the camera captured the sound, still sounds good though. They really take out the "blatty" part of the rpm range and really give just a solid full sound all the way through the rpm range. I cannot stress how much I really like these mufflers. I'll try to get a better video sometime.
Honestly, I'm kind of glad to be done with this exhaust though. Its been a long time in the making, and I'm very happy with the results.
