engine swap
Hey everyone how are ya, I'm new to this forum, so burn me to bad for asking this question, I recently aquired a 460ci block, and I own a 91 stang gt. How difficult would it be to swap the 5.0 out for the 460. What would need to change, would the stock 5-speed still do the job. If not what would. Thanks for any input you might have.

Well it's pretty easy if you are good with tools, there are a lot of options for the swap depending on what you are going to do with the car,if you just want to have a fast street car, then you can use kaufman products 1 7/8 headers which fit pretty good,if you are going to make a race car then you would probably want to use hooker super comp 2 inch headers, but they don't fit quite so well, there are quite a few places that make swap kits and i think most of them are pretty good, but you still have the option of upgrading things like the oil pan and pump ect.,there isn't any cutting or welding required except for the roll bar and subframe connectors that you are going to need when you are done,if you are going to go with a carburator then you will need a bypass fuel regulator and go with a 255lph pump in the tank. The t-5 won't handle the torque of a big block,I use a c-6 with good results, the stock rear end will last very well unless you are going to use slicks and a trans brake.Good luck and i hope I've answered a few of your questions.
