The reason why I suggested an LS1 (I'm a GM/Mopar guy by upbringing, but am liking what I'm seeing from the Ford camp) is because this dude wants either a Cobra and be broke or a GT and be kinda fast.

He could get say, a A4 or a M6 Z28 for less than/about the same as the GT and be a fair amount faster than the Cobra.

So sue me for being open to more than one brand.

rightt but he wants a mustang soo... Anyways, I'd go with the gt you will save the money and you can make it much faster than the cobra right off the bat. If by chance you wont get another real chance to do much to the car its ok, because its still faster than the cobra, besides the cobra guys wouldnt expect to lose to a gt, go for the gt. I can wait till this spring when my 03gt will devour cobras

oh i agree with silver4.6 get the gt and throw the money into that. and insurance will be cheaper.
