This installation is definitely the easiest of all the light replacement installations I've done so far. First photo shows the two light units involved: the stock red unit and the new replacement clear lens LED unit. Second photo shows "loosened" rear bumper cover that allows you to get access to the inside portion of the stock light unit where the front snap is located so you can unsnap it and take the unit out of the bumper cover hole. A good idea when you're doing this is to jack up the rear of the car, put it on jack stands, take the rear wheel off so you have ample access to the two screws you need to take out holding the bumper cover in place. I know this may be a big pain, but it gives you room to use a normal phillips screwdriver to take out and reinstall the screws holding the bumper cover. Otherwise, you have to use one of those srewy 90 degree angle screwdrivers to loosen the screws with the limited space between the tire and back of the wheel well lip. So make your choice wisely. The stock light unit is of course connected to the wiring harness. Carefully disconnect the light bulb socket from the stock unit. Twist counter clockwise to dislodge the fixture. To keep everything legal with clear lenses, we've got to install RED LED BULBs. So, gently pull out on the stock bulb, and yes it does come out very easily. Replace with your new red LED unit, and it goes in real easy, be careful though, delicate stuff. Reassemble everything the way it came apart. See photo below showing reassembled unit with new red LED bulb. See also the close up of the stock and new red LED unit. So, last reassembly step is to put the new clear lens unit back into the slot in the bumper cover. So do it. But before you do it, again, turn on the juice and make sure everything works, then snap the unit in the bumper cover. Last step is to reinsatll the two screws for the bumper cover, and we're finished. See last photo for completed installation - looks great, and you'll be amazed at how this installation will change the outward appearance of your car. Take care, Jack.
RE: 05-08 clear lens rear fender side marker light
Wow, great write up. I am not trying to minimize your great work, but for those that do not want to pull wheels, etc. , these are replaceable from the outside. A thin bladed screwdriver, or even a butter knife will pop the clips from the outside.....
Just an FYI,
Again, nice work!!!
Mike

RE: 05-08 clear lens rear fender side marker light
Instead of doing all that work to remove the rear fender liner and rear wheels. Just take a flat head screwdriver, tape it up so you don't scratch anything, and put it in the back of the rear sidemarker. Now push it so the side marker goes towards the front of the car, like 1/8 an inch and it will just come out. Very easy took me 2 seconds to remove it. So I can tint it.
