Default Saleen Heritage Install

Ok, so I found out previously that to install a GT front bumper you have to have some different parts, so I was wondering if I had everything I would need because the bumper is going on Tues or some day this week.

Like this:

I went to the nearest Ford dealership and purchased a R & L front splash guards, I intend to sand down the foam from the V6 bumper and finally I have a GT black CDC gille that fits the bumper. I also have the hardware necessary ie. nuts, bolts, weather stripping, ect.

Will definitely post pics when finished.

Send dunebuggydude11 a PM. He has the Saleen bumper that you are talking about, and he just put in on within the past few months.

when i installed it, i had no issues whatsoever. as for the foam piece, i just used a saw and cut off the "V6" area. it should just fit in the previous area easily. if you need to, search "removing 05 mustang front bumper/installing"....etc. on google and you will find easy to understand instructions. basicly there are two bolts on both ends of the bumper that hold the cover on. let me know if you have any other questions. and make sure you post pics

here is what mine looks like. now i'm just waiting for the chin and the lower grille to arrive any day now.

I have a GT foam if anyone is looking for one. It should be a simple install. Look at my GT500 conversion thread and install instructions are there. You can use it for this removal job.

coo thanks I think ill just shave off the V6 foam and make it match a GT as for the removal im just going to go w the flow, but i don't have a "aero shield" or a piece of plastic that goes from radiator to the front, lower part of the bumper and wondered if dunnebuggy had any probs w/o it.

As for the install i just got about 20 or so different instructional PDF files that show you how to install the new bumper with using the hardware that came in my kit, still there's a couple of pieces missing so i will probably google it later on.

Was there any other part about installing ur front that was hard to do? If so please tell how things went!

Thanks for the responses!!!

Ok, so I've been looking through my parts and in the kit there came a CHROME SURROUND to go around the grill in the kit that is exactly like the one on the PJ, its two parts, never installed, direct from Saleen, and in pristine condition.

I'm not going to use it because i already have a CDC black grill and it wont fit around it, so i was considering possibly selling, but i and just putting this out there to see if any one interested. I may sell or keep depending upon how well the CDC goes w/ the look of the car.
