Default how to buff out light scratches?

I noticed a few light scratches on the spoiler.

my car is black btw. The scratches aren't deep, but they are noticeable if looked up close.

look more like surface scratches, rather then deep to the metal keyed scratches..

does any of the rubbing compounds or scratch remover work??

Its probably just swirl marks...you can usually get away with meguiars scratch X if theyre not too bad! I bought a porter-cable D/A buffer when I had my black stang and used swirl remover and the proper pads to make quick work of all those imperfections. Its definetly a must have if you own a black car! kinda glad i switched to white(much easier) LOL.

How expensive is a decent buffer? I have some marks from wet sanding aswell as key marks and surface scratches so a buffer would be a wise investment for me, but i dont have lots of money to spare.

Unfortunatly theyre not cheap! the porter-cable 7424 is the best on the market and the cheapest ive ever seen it was $150..usually more like $180. I got a complete kit from autogeek.net ( all the pads, swirl removers, polish, wax ect) for $250. its totally worth every penny if your serious about detailing youre car to perfection as i am...and i still consider it the best appearance mod ive ever bought!

If its a surface scratch id try the scratchX first since its cheap and easy to find at any auto store.youll need to do at least a few applications..and use alot of elbow grease! if its a deep scratch youll need something more serious than over the counter auto-zone stuff though!

I had some really light scratches in my clear coat that ended up having to be wet sanded out with 1500.

As for a removing swirl marks and getting a mirror finish, I have heard the porter cable 7424 is a good polisher too - the best without going to a real expensive pro only rotary buffer. I see it online for $119 including xtra counter weight and backing pads.
