Default Future availability of parts, specifically GT/CS

Hey guys,

There are several threads on here listing the part #'s for the GT/CS front and then gt/cs &/or GT500 rear bumper direct from Ford. I was thinking to myself, with the introduction of the 2010 Mustang, that the well might dry up, so to speak, and that if I want that look, It might be time to get a rear bumperinstead of waiting.

Am I off base here or am I thinking correctly?

Sounds fair to me. About a month ago I was shopping for some normal GT take-off parts, and even those are becoming somewhat harder to find these days.

You'll probably be able to get new parts from Ford for a couple more years, but the inventory is going to go down (especially if people are thinking like you and start snapping stuff up) and that will gradually drive up the costs, so if you have the cash-money now and would like to go for a GT/CS or GT500 body upgrade, now is as good of a time as any.

(Besides, the sooner you have the upgraded parts, the sooner you can enjoy them, and why delay your own happiness?)

Ford makes parts for seven years after a particular model is no longer made (I think it's the minimum by law).

So you have until 2016 to get your parts from the dealer.
Also, the prices will go up to ridiculous amounts.
Get your sh#t now...

By law, an automotive manufacturer must carry replacement parts for 10 years for any vehicle it has sold. However, there is some deviation when it comes to the definition of a replacement part.

Concerning the availability of GT/CS parts: Ford will probably be making and selling them for a while, but they price may increase.

I lucked out and got an extra GT/CS front bumper cover from a body shop for $200.00,it even came with grille's and fogs. I bagged it up and put it in storage.

i think Ford is alredy starting to do this. Case in point, the splash guards for the gt500 and GT/CS went from $10 per side to $30 per side. That hurts a bit...

Talking Ordered GT/CS Bumpers

Based on the advise, I went to the dealer today and ordered the front and rear "acessory Kit" bumpers. So far, the price is the same as it's been, but I didn't want to take a chance and wait any longer, in case the price went up...

... at least that's what I told my wife.

Those of you who ordered these in the past, how long did it take to get them?

In Orlando, most dealers have those items in stock.
If not, it's a 2 day delay. No biggie...
