Default Removed your rear spoiler on your GT?

I've grown to like the look of our cars without the rear spoiler. The Shelby's don't have it and I think they look great! Has anyone removed the rear spoiler from their GT? If so, how did you cover the holes left in the trunk lid? Has there been any issues after taking it off?

TIA....Pics appreciated.

I saw these little plastic or rubber inserts for sale a while back, I think they called them bumper plugs, but they said they used those for the holes and the key hole in the door handle too...better than the holes you are left with after taking the spoiler off

Thanks. Do you remember where you saw them for sale? I guess that's something that would be in the "Help" section of any auto parts store....

HELP! section

One forum member used 'bolts'.
If it came between spoiler or holes with bolts plugging them,
I would go with the spoiler.

Maybe you can find a forum member that does not have
a spoiler but wants one and you two can trade trunk lids.

I have many pics but they are too large and the forum wont host them.

Yeah.....i don't want any bolt heads sticking up. That would be way more noticeable than some simple plugs.

Trading trunk lids could be an option.

Ideally I would get the holes filled and have the lid repainted. I just can't afford to do that right now. So if I take it off it'll be painted plugs for a while.

try bumperplugs.com that should be good for the spoiler holes but idk if they are big enough for the holes for your spoiler, if the bumper plugs arent big enough id try the key hole plugs, and pre painted to match

I got a 2 pack of black plugs at lowes, 98 cents i think it was. The only problem i had was the plugs didnt go in the hole so i cut off the bottoms and just had the "hat" part of the plug and used gasket sealer form the bottom. 3 months and no problems.

silverscmustang - Thanks for the tip on where to look. I'll go check them out.

07musclemustang - Cool! Do post some pics when you pick it up.

eslhockey92g - That looks pretty good. If I go that route I'll have to paint mine to match the car. What size would you say the holes were? BTW....love the GT500 spoiler! I want one of those too.

Really?? This sucks....I was also thinking about removing my spoiler....

So there are really only 3 options?
-Get holes filled and painted at shop($$$)
-Put some plugs in them(imo, too noticeable)....defiantly not going to be nuts and bolts in them lol.
-Buying another trunk lid($$$)

IMO, I just thought that there would be some better/cheaper alternatives to fixing the holes by now...
