I wholeheartedly agree with the posts in here. While the Trufiber hood has proven it takes the proper amount of time and money to make it 'right', IMO it proves worth it if your looking for a stunning look. I get comments on mine non-stop and dont regret it at all.
MMike21- do yourself a favor...order the NXT hood shock kit from Phil at Trufiber as well (mine was $134) if you havent already. I had shocks I added to the original hood, then had to take them off when I put my Venom hood on and had to start using the prop rod again. When I finally became aware there were shocks designed that had fiberglass hoods in mind and let you use them without it damaging or causing it to buldge when closed I ordered it immediately. I've had mine for a bit, just need to paint them out so they match everything before installing.
As far as the hood pins attachments go, no one has posted anything near as good as what pascal came up with and took pictures of in another post for a customer of his. Problem is if you dont have a welder or know someone with one capable of using it very well you might have to use a different solution. I intend to switch mine out to pascals idea, just need to get the time to get the brackets made and then installed. Maybe if enough of us beg, maybe pascal can make some extras to sell..... =]
Be sure to post some completed pics of your hood on the car. Grats!
The pics of mine are without the fender badges I finally put back on (the tri bar instead of the GT ones), and are soon to be updated since I have Elbach lowering springs and Koni Yellows sitting on my kitchen floor ready for install once I get the rear pair from Sam at Strano.

did he give you an idea of how much work the fiberglass needs before he can paint?
No he didnt really say. He took a good look at it and didnt really see anything wrong with it, but then again the first step is to bake it , so maybe after that there may be some minor imperfections that need to be sanded, etc
Hey Andretti, you've one good with that car.
Those Venom hoods do look bad ass.
Thanks pascal...You were in Europe during my big 'unveiling' when it was finished. I ended up doing the stripe figuring it'd be easier to add the stripes to the nose later as opposed to painting them on and then not possibly liking them and then end up having to repaint the entire hood.
Yeah, I'm definately happy with it though. Thanks for the comment.

Do all Tru-Fiber hoods have to be tended to as much before painting them? Wonder if the quality of Cervini's is better.
Many do but they are worth it for the functionality alone! Sig advertising removed...check out the rules and post in the right section after 50 posts and 30 days as a member

It has 1/8 thick flat metal strip (better than wood slats) that bolts on to where the hinges would go and protudes out so if you stand the hood up, the corners wouldn't touch the ground and don't get hurt.
Trufiber have more aggressive designs though, the GTS-4 and Venom are the proof of it.
They also have more different styles.
I agree about Cervinis and the storing of a hood and mine (GTS3) came with wood strips to protect the hood corners. I like the fit and finish of the Cervini and the look of the Trufiber. So I have both! Pascal want to paint mine for free...I will advertise your shop
