Default Cheap and dead sexy mod! Tinted turn signals

Well ive been pondering ordering some black housed turn signals but at a $140 price tag for the housing and stealth bulbs i thought twice and started a little project. I wasnt sure how much i would like it so i went out to the shop/garage where my stang was took of the left signal and covered it with some limo black 5% tint (had it laying around).

I must say, tint is not fun to work with but man do i love the outcome! This is a free (or the price of tint if you have none) mod that i Love the look of. Here are some pics although im sure you guys have seen many.

The right side is in process right now. Theres definitely a loss of output but its easily visible over the lights in my shop. Looks awesome with the signal/running lights off too. Is there a way to have the fogs and headlights on but not running lights? or is that illegal?

Looks good! I thought about doing mine like that but ended up buying the black housing and small amber reflecter turn signals from AmericanMuscle for about 100 bucks it came with both parking and turn signal bulb in amber. Didn't want to get pulled over for signals other than that Nice Job!!!

I may go the same route down the road. If i dont have any problems ill just redo these a bit better and keep it. There are alot of flaws you can see up close, but from a few feet away the look sick! I might go a bit higher then the 5% too.

Heres a pic of both sides, but its not a great pic. Ill be sure to get a few during the day.

looks good, I was just going to get the lens tint spray paint and use that. I've done that on other cars I've had and it looks good.

I dont blame you there. It was alot more difficult then i thought it would be to get perfect. Especially without prepping the lenses right. Mine have a semi rough texture from a little road rash and the spot where the lense rubs on the bumper was a bit rough. I should have sanded it smooth

G-stang, just use 35% tint. Thats what I used on my car and it hides the bright orangeness of the lights, but you cant really tell that they are tinted with the turn signals on.

I did the same thing with my side marker lights. Used 5% Limo tint.
