i found this flat black s197 and it looks good to me
im going for that murdered out black look too
anyone know the paint code for this color?
it's your car, if we all did the same thing it would be stoo-pid. Paint the damn thing the color you want. They used to call 'kustoms" painted this color velvet. One thing for sure it it will stand out. DO IT !!! If you want to paint it titty pink you should do it. There was a time when someone first tried candy apple, and metal flake, and all the other paint types and colors. Make it your own, paint it however you like it, the heck with everyone else.

Personally, I agree with those that say "It's your car, do it how you like it"
However, my husband's 69 has a flat black hood and it is a MAJOR PITA to maintain. You can run a finger over it when its dirty and BAM its scratched. Our airbrush artist friend traced out a flame outline just to show my husband what he thought would look good? The hood was dirty - now its got a faint scratched in flame outline on it. LOL Whoops!
I'd look into Satin Black as some have mentioned. In fact, that one Mustang someone posted looks satin to me, not true flat black. But it may have a sealer on it.... I do know a sealer can be sprayed over it if you go with flat - one of our car club members has an S-10 that's flat w/a sealer.

Problem with flat black, is that it won't age right and looks rather dark gray.
It is also a biatch to maintain, every little superficial scratch can't be buffed out.
It's an indoor display color IMO.
I agree.....and though some of the pics look great IMO flat black is not worth it....but OP if you want it and have the cash to spare go for it and post up when it is done

I had my car painted matte black. though if you thinking of daily driving, I would suggested to stick with vinyl wrap, it has so much more advantage to it...
Here is my matte black car: http://mustangforums.com/forum/membe...7-mustang.html
That car only looks good in flat black because of those bad ass wheels IMO
I vote for the Satin for the look, but my buddy had a car that was flat black and it was nasty looking within a few years. I'd be afraid to do it unless it was a show car that would only be out in the sun for small periods of time. But that Ferrari paint might be good enought to make it awhile. Hell, it's Ferrari, it's got to be overpriced, I mean good.
