Angry help! I got keyed! need hood/paint/help!

Someone on day one of school has keyed my 06 6pack. #^@%ing rice all over my school. luckily, it's only on the hood, no damage anywhere else. there is 3 8-11" scratches that go past the vista blue, into the primer? it's a white scratch.

Should I bother with the Fixit stuff? I tried buffing, it will not come out.

I got 5 quotes, from 434.55 to 1283.81.

I guess I am looking for a vista blue hood OEM or not for $350-450. any suggestions, you selling a hood? i will pay to get it shipped too

That really sux dude and I'm sorry to hear about that. Wouldn't we for once like to be able to catch one of these little cowards in the act??

If it's down to the metal you'd be better to have professionally painted, doesn't sound like you need a new hood though.

Default absolutely right

I will probably need a professional job, but it's gettin so pricey here that I might as well buy a ram air hood and call it a day

Did you try a orbital buffer, or just by hand?

If it's just white there may be a really good chance it's only in the clear, if it's grayish it's prolly in the primer. Try your hand at some wetsanding and some compound buffing.

Post pictures so we can give you better advice

I found a hood on craig list for 100. one chip in paint thats tiny. I bout this used so the hood came looking like starry night.

I tried a 10" orbital buffer with some professional scratch removal from my friend who is realted to the ford dealership here in town. it helped, but definatley not enough.

anybody know how to replace a hood? or should I go to the dealership (i get a family discount)?

Sorry to hear this .
I am actually selling my old factory hood I just took off my car but it's black so you would still need to get it painted...and I live in Georgia so no shipping needed.

The worst thing is unfortunately it might not be the last time it happens. If some idiot did it once (and unfortunately you dont catch them doing it), it will likely happen again. I genuinely feel bad for you (I had my dd keyed for over $1800 damage a few years ago while at work), but idiots like these are a dime a dozen (and in HS, more like 11/12) especially when you factor in immaturity and jealousy.

I'm not sure I wouldnt keep the hood, primer where the scratchs are, and call it a day until you graduate. Otherwise, its more than likely to happen again and again since most kids are just asshats to others with nicer cars. It sucks, but thats just par for the course for HS.
