Default gauge cluster swap

heyguys I tried searching but only came up with other questions including my color swaps and going from 4 gauge clusters to 6 gauge clusters.

My question:

I have a 08' GT with gauges that look like these:

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...luster-003.jpg

and want to swap in a roush gauge cluster that looks like this:

http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0005_large.jpg

will this be plug and play?

How are the miles stored? on the cluster themselves or the ECU?

Basically what is needed to make these swap over easily. I plan on swapping entire clusters

I believe you need the ECU recalibrated because the Roush cluster goes beyond our stock 120mph. I know that is what happens when you reface your cluster to a Saleen where it shows 160. Curious to know about this too. Good question

just out of curiosity but why does your gauge only have 2 things in the middle? and that funky reset button in the middle? and shouldn't the GT gauge go up to 140?

1) It has two middle guages cause it doesn't have MYCOLOR...
2) That is a V6 Guage, it even says it in the URL...

The cheap way out would be to get a new gauge face. Not sure if they make them, but there are many places that make custom faces. Look around. If you don't care about the MPH going that high, then i would go that route. Much cheaper, no computer tune needed.

that that is a v6 cluister in the pic but I do have a GT and my speedo does go to 140MPH so I do not think the speedo will be off.

so basically it looks like it should work except for the milage question

yea if the speedo and tach show the same amount then it wont need to be recalibrated but who knows since it doesnt sound like anyone has done a full cluster swap.
