Default Hood Scoop Placemet

I'm going to install a California Special hood scoop on my 07 GT and was wondering if anyone knew the exact placement on the hood to mount it, as far as how many inches forward of the back edge of the hood. Thanks for any input.

If you take off the hood liner, there should be markings (circles) where the hood scoop sould be installed. On my 06 GT, I went to a dealer's bodyshop and had them install it. Only cost one hour of labor, but was well worth it. Call some dealers and see what they'll chage you. Good luck!

Has anyone gone to the Ford dealer and bought the hood scoop and had it installed? Just wondering what the total cost is parts+labor. My wife wants to do this for me as a Christmas present.

Partscheap.com sells the primed OEM hood scoop for around $220.00 Then, you have to find someone to paint it, could cost anywhere from $75-$100. DG Custom Auto sells an identical scoop PAINTED for around $229.00. Also, check our RPI Designs, they sell a prepainted scoop similar to the Roush. Check out ebay for OEM and similar hood scoops. A dealer bodyshop should charge you about $50 to install, or you can do it yourself. Good luck!
