Default Dealer pin stripe removal?

My 09 Stang is black and the dealer had added very thin white pin strips on the sides. I wasn't thinkin so much about it when I got it and choices on 09's were limited at this point so I grabbed this one. I guess they are hand painted on at the dealer? These are not the typical bottom of door stripes. I've read somewhere, use a heat gun, others say goo gone, and one place said easy off over cleaner!!! Aahh!!! I guess these are on for life?? Should I take it to a good body shop??

are they painted on or are they decals? if they are decals then you can just heat them up with a heat gun/blowdryer and peel them off and then use some goo gone to remove the leftover adhesive.

I'm 99% sure you got a thin vinyl pin stripe and not painted on. You have to have someone with a real steady hand to do that and it would cost waaaay more than what a dealer would do.
Just take your fingernail and see if you can lift up the edge a little. If it moves up, it's just taped on, if it scrapes off completely then you have paint.

If they are painted on, you can buff them out easily with regular compound.
Then hand glaze the area and you're done.

Here's a picture guys:

I guess your right 07, a dealer on-site master pin-striper guy would certainly increase the dealer markups, LOL!!! The Ford Logo def must be a decal.

I want to make wheel changes eventually and maybe add a spoiler and I'm not sure the stripe goes with the look I want. I think it looks ok up on the front fender with the Ford Logo, but in the back where its just straight and with no spoiler, I'm just not sure about it.
I guess I'll try the finger nail - If its vinyl, is it easily removed with out damaging/scratching the paint?

I remember my PP had that stripe, minus the ford logo. A friend of mine and I were always big fans of it because it's pretty subtle but nice when you noticed it. In fact I remember sort of forgetting it was there sometimes

if its a decal it will remove easilly i remember my V6 when she had the gold MUSTANG stripe along the bottom of each side...

i used a hair dryer and peeled it back with my fingers and nails...i wouldnt dare using a blade on her

then i used some lighter fluid to get them off...have a little pick at them if its paint it shouldnt come off

im not a fan of them i like a clean look and the Ford logo kinda looks out of place
Just my opinion tho im not trash talking

and im glad your smart enough to not drink and drive

we had a guy on here telling us he was drinking and driving home and scuffed his rim but he said it was okay because he only lived round the corner and his dad was a cop
-lets just say that thread was pulled pretty quick lolol

if the stripe is not paint it will come off easy just warm up with a heat gun or blow dryer then warm as you peel.
