What does the 1000 headunit have that the 500 does not? Since the amp stays the same...

1000 (from what I can see on the one I picked up) has chrome rings on it and the sub pre outs. other than that should be the same

I lied, just double checked. all connections are the same except the 100 has a different antenna(satellite radio maybe?).

Differences I saw was the 100 has a pause button, has another option on the center button in the button group in the center of the HU (dont remember what it is), looks better IMO. I am headed to Sound of TriState today to try and find an antenna adapter

Could probably buy an antenna adapter for another HU and then cannibalize it!

Final post on this.

Installed the Shaker 1000 today and noticed something i didnt like. After buying a Chrysler antenna adapter, installing, then cranking the music.... I had massive bass loss. Couldn't figure it out till it dawned on me, Shaker 1000 rely on the subs for low freq response.

While the Shaker 1000 has a few extra features and looks better, low frequency response is lost. with the top down, I could hardly hear any music when turned up. I will be removing the 1000 and reinstalling the 500 for now.
