Default Max tire width?

I have the stock 18" fanblades on my GT. What is the width of those rims? I'm trying to figure out the max tire width I can get on these wheels..

Thanks!!

Your stock fanblades are 8 inches wide theres not many options for that wheel as far as widths concerned but you might be able to get away with a 255/40 .........keep in mind stats rate this tire for 8.5-10 inch rims so its not recommendedbut I know for a fact you can get away with it with minimum side wall roll...........Tires Plus does it all the time.

That would be correct and you can fit 255/45/18 w/o any trouble. There was a thread on this awhile back in the V8 section, I'll have to look for it unless you want to You could could probably go to P275 but they dont fit vey well as they are to wide for the 8.5" wheel and just roll over the sidewall(also I believe in that same thread).

I have 18x8.5 bullitts and I am running 275/40/18's with no problems. It handles very well I had someone tell me I could I may be able to run 295's on the back with a spacer but I think Im gonna just get some 18x10 inch wheels.

The widest tire you should run on an 18 X 8.5 is a 255. 255/45/18 is the correct plus size. You canmount a 275/40/18 on an 18 X 8.5 and drive on it, but the performace characteristics of the tire are impaired. I am running 255/45/18's on the stock 18X 8.5's along with suspension significantly modified for street / road race applications (see sig below) with very good results.
