Your fuel tank straddles the driveshaft with the sending unit on the driver's side. When gas sloshes into the passenger side, the sending unit temporarily drops. When the gas sloshes back to the driver side, it takes longer for the sending unit to transmit the rise in gas level to the gauge then it takes to transmit the drop.

Where did you get that INFO?
Um actually the fuel tank has two senders.
One on each side. It averages the two to show fuel level.
In normal operation, the fuel system level indication is in
Anti-Slosh Mode to take car of just such a problem as you
describe. ????
And this sloshing thing you talk bout is almost non existent.
It pulls fuel from the passengers side till thats almost empty
then from the drivers side till thats almost empty.
Not much sloshing to be done there... Heavily baffled the tank is.

Maybe the above links will shed some true light on the subject...

I based it on my installation of the GT500 fuel system. It was my assumption as I didn't know there is a second sending unit on the passenger side. I truly apologize for having so deeply offended you with my incorrect assumption.
