Default Why you need trackpads, ducts and rotors

Check out this video of a GTO at an HPDE in California. It has dual air ducts on it. Everyone now understand why pads like stock, HPS, etc wont stand up? and why ducts are so important?

Wow, that's a great video! And yes, if the brake fade and chewed up pads didn't clue you in yet as to the need for track-only equipment, this handy-dandy instructional video should do it.

Thanks for sharing.

BTW, anyone have any thoughts on why the pads seem to light up the inner and outer area of the fire path on the brake rotors before the center lit up? I'm thinking that less mass there is causing the heat to build up faster, which then soaks into the center shortly after. (Note: I'm also assuming his Stoptech set-up used aluminum hats.) Other explanations?

Best,
-j
