Cool Opinions on LCA's

I have a Roush stage 1 and I'm looking for some decent LCA's. I want LCA's that fit the stock ride height since I don't plan on dropping the car (just got 19's and they fit the wheel well perfectly). So do I need adjustable or not, and what kind of bushings? Keep in mind I'm a college student with a very limited budget. Thanks guys.

Why do you think you need LCAs - i.e. what problem are you expecting them to solve?

I went with non-adjustable lca's and adjustable uca. It took more than just lca's to stop wheel hop. I'm guessing that's why you want control arms. I went with Steeda for all of them. No problems.

usualy a noticable improvement from the lowers but the upper is worth doing as well. One company I would suggest you take a look at is http://www.spohn.net/. Very good arms, VERY configurable, and having installed a set of them recently, there of superior quality then any I have seen in person (steeda, BMR, CHE) and cheaper. At the minimum I would get a adjustable upper, though they jig set all there adjustable items, and I know on the install I jsut did on them, we didnt need to touch them, but havinig the adjustable means that if you ever want to change your setup, you dont need to buy new arms.

For street use, I would look at combination arms. Such as there Del-Sphere ends (very nice) on one side, and the poly end to your body. Good luck

thanks walton and sleeper

Sleeper--Great Article!, curious though, would i benefit any from just buying LCA relocation brackets and keeping factory LCA's? i am just essentially trying to get more traction to my rear and stop wheel hop.

JDwalton--when they speak of RACE only LCA's due to noise is it definatly to rough to run on street or just not optimal? i mean i can deal with noise/a stiff ride in my daily driver if it performs that much better....but at the same time a daily driver is still a daily driver.

Thanks.

You might want to try the LCA brackets first. I know everyone upgrades the control arms first, but I can't really tell a difference in wheel hop after the isntall of my J&M LCAs as far as wheel hop goes. I have LCA brackets that I'll install this weekend and i think that will help more than the actual LCA's. If you dont want added NVH, I would look at the GT500 LCAs.

Um... I'm not talking about race only so maybe clarify who "they are?" USUALY race only are full sperical ends on both sides so essantialy its a metal rod with no bushings connecting body to axel, and would be much too loud for what I consider a daily driver. The setup I recomened used Del-Spheres (a Spohn product) that has thick delrin insulators that dampen the noise, for one end of the arm, and poly bushings on the body end of the arm. I feel this is the most stiffness while still having a forgiving ride. My mom runs them in her Bullitt with virtualy no change in noise. On her UCA it is just a del-spere at the one join, but her LCA, and panhard is Del-sphere one side and poly other.

My set up is close, with spericals on one side, and poly on the other, but I think the Spohn del-spheres isolate better then the sperical ends, and was cheaper / built stronger then my BMR
