Default brake pad clips?

i am sure this question can be answered pretty easily.
i just changed my front brake pads from HPS to HP+ Hawks. installation went well. my question is that upon removal of the HPS pads one clip fell off the front pads, and i wanted to be swapping them out between events. can i still use them with out one clip? infact one of the pads was running with just one clip.

Hey There!

The clips are anti-rattle clips, they just help keep the brakes from squealing. They do their job, as I've run the exact same pad compound on two sets (one w/clips and one w/o), and the one lacking the clips were ungodly noisy.

If you notice more noise, don't be surprised.

Best,
-j

I trashed my clps 15K miles ago when I installed HPS pads to replace the stock and my brakes are perfectly quiet, no issues at all.

Go clipless without worry, those darn things always seem to fall off when swapping pads a lot.

Mine came off two of the front pads as well. No change in noise from the stock as far as I can tell. Everything seems to be fine without them.
