Default Official Site Sponsor--I'm back

After having to work out some details where I was a sponsor, then wasn't (which was odd since I autopaid at the time), I'm back.

So here are some things I'd like to get out about myself, my shop, and how I work:

I'm not one to beat around the bush. If I think you need something, I'll tell you. If I think you are wasting your money, I'll tell you that too. But I'll always do my best to explain *why*, and will always ask questions about what you are trying to get done. I readily admit I'm not a yes man, and some folks hate that, but most seem to appreciate the fact I won't pat 'em on the back and agree with everything just to get a quick sale.

My business: Is mine. I'm the way I am because my name is on the door, and I'm very small. I can't afford to not care and do the wrong thing. That said I, like I think most others, hate being taken advantage of for free information. So if you want to call and ask advice, great. In fact I don't charge for it. But over the last few years instances of folks taking it and running to save $5 has gotten out of hand. I only ask that in exchange for my information and honesty that I have the opprotunity for your business.

My website is FAR from complete. I work on it as I can, and if you don't see something you want, PLEASE call or e-mail me! I am a Steeda WD, I am a Maximum Motorsports dealer, I sell UMI parts (which are excellent). Unlike other companies I carry a variety of brands to make sure I have bases covered. For instance the shocks. While I'm a Koni fan, I still sell Tokico, Koni, KYB, Bilstein and others so folks know they aren't getting a recommendation because I have nothing else to offer.....

There are few others around this or any other site that have my level of experience in making pony-cars handle, let alone with a track record to prove it. Though I do have to say there is more and better info here than on a number of other sites combined. Some see me pointing out my accomplishments as arrogant. But it's part of proving to people I know what I'm doing, the same reason I posted a number of in-car video's this year. Seeing is believing.

Sam,
Good for you. I have been reading alot on this section lately and do value your advice aswell as others on a subject I know very little about. When I do come up with some funds I will purchase from you, sponser or not.

Thanks
Craig

I apprecaite that ab. In all fairness, all I ask is for a shot at your business. I do my best to sell for fair pricing (can't always be the cheapest, but I try to be in and around there). Whether I am best on price or not, I always give setup help to my customers.

Good deal Sam. Do you carry performance brake pads? I need some new pads immediately and may swap some new rotors as well.

I do. Mostly Hawk, but can do EBC, Performance Friction... Thought about calling Cobalt, but honestly the Hawks usually cover most of our needs. Rotors from ATE, Racing Brake, and DBA, plus some others like PowerSlot and PowerStop. And I have big brakes too, like the StopTech and Steeda 14" stuff.

Thanks for the info, Sam. You were straight with me about 19 years ago when you helped me with some suspension parts for a 4Runner in the '90's, you've provided me some excellent info regarding my Stang and I consider all the info that you've provided on the forum to be unbiased. Welcome back.

I'm new to the site, but I will be conferring to you with my suspension needs. Appreciate the honesty and I like the more "personal" business aspect.

Dan--

Before I forget you PHB is in transit (left today).

Which LCA is "best" is one of those things in which everyone has an opinion. Not only do I carry UMI, but also Steeda and MM as well (plus there are some Edelbrock parts too).

All Poly bushed are the most quiet. All rod-ends are the strongest, and loudest. There are the poly/rod combo arms which as you can guess are in between. The Poly end is the body side to isolate rod-end noise as much as possible. The rod-end is on the axle end and allows the axle to articulate freely, which is important for non-drag cars because if the axle sticks and doesn't move freely both ride and handling can suffer.

So which is best? Depends. More often than not we end up using the poly/rod or the on-car adjustable all poly arms. All rod-end arms are for track use only and just make too much racket for most anyone to tolerate on the street. And all poly non-adjustables don't allow you any recourse if your thrust angle is off (and it's rare cars are perfect), and I like--whenever possible, to have my axle going straight.
